"I am proud to present my third feature film called 'The Apostate' in Warsaw, not only because my family origins are Polish but also because I felt at home in Poland when I was invited with my previous film some years ago ('A Useful Life' / 'La Vida Útil', WFF 2010).
I believe The Apostate would be much appreciated by Polish audiences because of one of the big issues the film proposes: how to deal in present times with traditions, with family and society's values.
Through the deep, respectful and funny game that the film narrates its protagonist's journey, Polish audiences would be able to follow him and wonder together with him why his final goal justifies his extreme conviction.
Also, 'The Apostate' has particular influence from 70s and late 80s films directed by Polish master Krzysztof Zanussi." Federico Veiroj
