“Hannah” is the intimate portrait of a woman going through an identity crisis. She can’t face up to the reality of the world around her. She is torn between denial and a struggle to connect with the world. She loses her self-control. “Hannah explores the inner torment of a woman trapped by her own life choices, paralysed by her insecurities and dependencies, by her own sense of loyalty and devotion”, says the director. “With this film I wanted to feel close to her, to hold her hand, encourage and reassure her. More than anything, I wanted the world to see her, to see her pain and watch her try to redefine and find herself on her own, before disappearing”. A very intimate first part of a trilogy about women. Charlotte Rampling plays the title role.
