Turkey / Germany, 2007 - 124
Ali has been living in Germany for five years. He accidentally watches a documentary about “honour killings” and finds out that his niece Zühre, whom he thought he had killed 5 years before, is alive. Even though the woman’s identity and face is not shown on the screen, Ali knows it is his niece Zühre. For him, only one thing is left to be done. He has to finish what has been left undone. He has to kill Zühre.
A complex and intriguing Turkish drama about “honour killings” by Handan Ipekçi, known for her socially critical films. One of the rare realistic dramas which, with respect for women, shows the true face of this problem.
