Warsaw Next - Mary Kate O Flanagan (one of Europe's leading story experts)

On October 16, as part of Warsaw Next workshops, one of Europe's leading story experts, Mary Kate O Flanagan, will hold a lecture on how to create and sustain maximum engagement in your audience:

The Three Hard Rules of Storytelling on The Screen Revealed in Three Hours.

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, October 16 at 10:00, at Kinoteka, screening room 4. The event is free and open to general public. We invite everyone interested in cinema, the art of storytelling and writing. The lecture will be conducted in English.

MARY KATE O FLANAGAN is an award-winning writer, journalist and an expert in Storytelling On The Screen. She works in and across Europe, in the UK, the US and South Africa, as well as in her native Ireland. She has a Master’s Degree in Screenwriting and trained with the Professors of Screenwriting at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Mary Kate about her work:
“Story is the central preoccupation of my life. It’s the focus of my studies, at the heart of all my work and my deepest pleasure. Over the course of my life, it has become my religion. I sincerely believe that by shaping a story, we reclaim the narrative of our own experiences and can change our lives. Working to amplify the voices of those who traditionally haven’t been heard perfectly aligns with my values and I find it immensely rewarding”.
