Schnitzel Paradise
Het schnitzelparadijs
dir. Martin Koolhoven
Netherlands, 2005 - 82
Nordip, a Moroccan, is the pride of his family. He passed his final school exams with the kind of grades his fellow pupils can only dream of attaining. No wonder that Dad is already mapping out a bright future for his son – a degree in medicine and a subsequent career as a doctor. After all, the world is Nordip’s oyster. But, like many others of his age, Nordip doesn’t really know what he wants to do with his life. The only thing he knows for sure is that he definitely does not want to study medicine. For the time being he gets a job in a restaurant washing dishes. A tender love affair with the boss’s niece Agnes threatens his relations with his eccentric co-workers…
This warm romance by Martin Koolhoven continues the climate and atmosphere of the 2004 box office hit “Hush, Hush, Baby!” A hit in the Netherlands.
