Agnes, the daughter of God, descends on earth to explore the state of humanity and determine if the grievances and sorrows of man are well-founded. The worst of sorrows, she discovers is to hurt others; something we are forced to do in order to live. During her earthly odyssey, Agnes meets a variety of troubled characters who reveal to her the complexity and pain of modern existence: a ticket seller, a blind man, an actress, a poet. The whole story is underlined by fundamental questions about the predicament of man. Is there a God? If so, why so much injustice and suffering?
