Short Films Competition at the 41st Warsaw Film Festival

One of the most prestigious sections of the Warsaw Film Festival is the Short Film Competition, which for years has attracted the most talented young filmmakers from around the world, offering them a chance to qualify for the race to the Oscars. This is where many renowned directors started their careers, including Saulė Bliuvaitė (Golden Leopard winner in Locarno for Toxic), Arnar Guðmundsson (internationally awarded Heartstone), Amanda Kernell (Sami Blood, awarded in Venice), Rúnar Rúnarsson (later winner of the Golden Shell for Sparrows), and Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk (Pamfir).

“Cinema, My Love” – a new star-studded section of the 41st Warsaw International Film Festival

A new highlight of this year’s Warsaw International Film Festival will be the star-studded section “Cinema, My Love”, in which distinguished guests from the world of cinema will present films of personal significance and then meet with audiences for a conversation after the screening.

At Warsaw’s Iluzjon cinema, four exceptional films will be shown, selected by film journalist Grażyna Torbicka and actors Andrzej Chyra, Maciej Zakościelny, and Piotr Witkowski. Each screening is not only an opportunity to watch a film chosen by a guest, but also a chance to engage in a discussion about its personal meaning.

The section “Cinema, My Love”, as well as the 41st edition of the Warsaw International Film Festival, is organized in partnership with the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute (FINA).

Please note: SCREENINGS IN THIS SECTION ARE PRESENTED WITH POLISH SUBTITLES ONLY, AND THE POST-SCREENING DISCUSSIONS WITH THE GUESTS WILL BE CONDUCTED IN POLISH WITHOUT TRANSLATION.
